Addressing economic development is critical to impacting the social drivers of health. In 2015, The Greater Hunts Point Economic Development Corporation (GHPEDC) became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Urban Health Plan and serves as its community and economic development arm, focusing on local business, workforce development, housing, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and transportation.
The organization focuses on advocacy, technical assistance, and training with a mission to improve the quality of life for businesses and residents in Hunts Point, Longwood, Port Morris, and adjacent South Bronx neighborhoods. Our membership arm is the Greater Hunts Point Chamber of Commerce.
